US Open - The US Open starts today and
runs through Sunday, September 29th. The final will be broadcast
on PPV Sunday at 7:30PM Eastern / 4:30 Pacific. The 3-hour
broadcast will cost $9.95 on most systems. Check out Inside
Pool for live coverage and updates.

Snooker News - Qualifications were held
for the first 4 ranking events of the season in early September.
Check out World Snooker for
the current brackets. The Final rounds for the first ranking
tournament of the season, the LG Cup take place from October 5th
through October 13th.

VCR Alert! - Next Wednesday, September
4th at 8AM PST / 11AM EST, Fox Sports World will be broadcasting a
2-hour program covering the 2002 World Pool Championships held last
month in Wales. There are no re-broadcasts scheduled, so it
looks like this is the only opportunity for fans in the US to see
any coverage.

City Open - The Windy City Open will be held near Chicago

of Fame Saturday night. Congratulations to both!

Championships will be on Pay-Per-View for Dish Network subscribers in
late September.

World Pool Championships - The
128-player field is down to 2. Earl Strickland will be taking on
Francisco Bustamante Sunday. If you're in the US, you can follow
the rack-by rack updates at the World
Pool Championships official site. The rest of the world can
watch it on TV.

Rest in Peace Rod Steiger - The star of Poolhall
Junkies passed away July 9th.

Poolhall Junkies - There is still no
release date set for this film, but it was released on video in
Australia April 24th. I should have my copy in a few
weeks. Thanks to Robert from Australia for sending that along.

Poolhall Junkies - There is a new movie coming our way.
Early screenings at film festivals have yielded good reviews.
Unfortunately, there is no scheduled date for nationwide release

I haven't added any new links to the site, but here are some cool links
and industry news.
For a peek at some cool billiards memorabilia from the past, check out
this incredible collection of cue
sports memorabilia. For some more history, here is the Internet
Pinball Database. Dozens of pinball machines are listed,
including many with photos.
In industry news, it looks like Escalade
Sports is building an empire through acquisitions. Since March,
they have purchased Murrey
and Sons billiard table division, the rights to Willie
Mosconi's name and likeness, and brand, and the assets
and trademarks owned by Steve Mizerak, Inc. in separate acquisitions.
